Date and Walnut cookies

Preparation Time


1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped black walnuts
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs

1. Preheat over to 350. Combine sugar, flour, and baking powder. Mix.

2. Add dates, walnuts, and eggs. Beat lightly.

3. Spread mixture on a buttered baking tray. Bake 30 min.

4. When done and still warm, roll a spoonful into a ball and drop into a bowl of extra sugar. Continue rolling until the mixture is small sugar ball cookies.

5. Notes: The mixture will be hot so you may want to coat your hands with butter for rolling.

As the mixture cools, it hardens. Be sure to work fast.

This recipe can be easily altered to be gluten-free. Replace the flour with a mixture of gluten-free flours.
