| Amount | Ingredient | Preparation |
|---|---|---|
| 1 1/2 cups, sifted | flour | |
| 1 cup | sugar | |
| 3 tbsp | baking cocoa | |
| 1 tsp | baking soda | |
| 1/2 tsp | salt | |
| 1 large one | egg | |
| 1/4 cup, melted | Butter | |
| 1 cup | sour milk | |
| 1/4 cup | hot water | |
| 1 tbsp | vanilla |
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180*C/350*F. Grease your cake tin and lightly dust it with flour, shaking out any excess. Set aside.
2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl. Mix together the egg, butter, sour milk, hot water and vanilla. Add to the dry ingredients. Beat (preferably with an electric mixer) for 2 minutes on medium speed. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until it tests done when a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack. NO need to remove from the pan.
